Ok, this is not motorcycle news but, because we are so unhappy with the internet service we are getting we thought we jump up onto our soap box and have a severe whinge about TOT (Telephone Operator of Thailand). How they have the nerve to use the word "operator" in a total contradiction to their service
I am the site webmaster based in Thailand, a wonderful country and doing it's best to enter the modern world but, partially let down by TOT! To give them their due when I call them to sort out a problem they will turn up quite promptly but, sadly that's all they will do! Despite I tell them the problem is not my end they still turn up and check my lines, look at my abysmally low speedtest and leave! These are the problems with the internet in Thailand. - Unable to resolve a DNS half the time!
- Only stays live for literally 3 -15 minutes before dropping the connection!
- Unable to resolve a DNS for Google! Ok so not the most utilised of web companies in the net
These idiosyncrasies of Thailand's so called internet service makes it extremely difficult to operate a webmasters business here!
TOT get your act together and start providing a service! 160 kilobytes per second for a service that can only stay live for 15 minutes must be embarrassing for you! But that's not all...Not only are we the users of one of the worst connections in SE Asia we have to endure censorship as well! Ever wondered why videos on the site are not shown using Youtube? Got that off my chest now to try and get some work done!
