Adventure In Cambodia With Dancing Raods

Just over 10 years ago, Cambodia entered the world of tourism and in that time the many splendours of this intriguing country have been showcased to the outside world.  Home to one of the modern Wonders of the World with the awesome Angor Wat, strangely enough made famous by the fictional Lara Croft in the Hollywood movie "Tomb Raider", Cambodia is seen today as the destination for adventure travellers. What could be better than exploring a country filled with exotic and unique culture, ancient ruins and jungles with the freedom of a motorbike!

5 years after Cambodia opened it's doors to the outside world, Dancing Roads Dirt Bike Tours began to offer adventure travellers the unique chance to explore every corner of Cambodia using Honda XR 250's.

All the tours are overseen by probably one of the most unlikely Wolverhampton Wanderers football fan on the planet!  Paeng, a local Khmer guide and tour leader, likes to make each tour unique, adapting the routes and terrain to suit each group. His relaxed yet professional approach also makes you feel like you are on a ride with friends rather than on a restrictive, organised tour.

Not all riders want to ride extreme terrain, but some want to push their riding abilities to the maximum. Others are looking for something a bit more laidback with time to see the sights and take in the surroundings. I have been riding in Cambodia for a very long time, and my local knowledge combined with my own riding ability allows me to adapt each tour to suit most of the group.  We have a lot of fun out there!

The majority of riders arrive into Cambodia through Phnom Penh Airport, which is probably one of the most pleasant aiports you could imagine arriving into considering it's an international facility!  On arrival Paeng will meet you and transfer you to your city accommodation  for your first taste of

Cambodia.  The capital Phnom Pehn,  considering it has only a population of 2 million people, is a vibrant and unique city. A distinct feeling of old Colonial Cambodia remains, with its fusion of Khmer and  European architecture and a wide range of local, French and European cuisines.

Once settled in the capital, usually the following day would be your first day of your adventure motorbike tour and your first insight into rural Cambodia.  As no tour is ever the same, where you go today will be depending on the tour you have signed up to.  If that means temples and ancient ruins you would begin your ride heading North from the capital to the remote temples of Koh Ker, Preah Vihear and Preah Kahn to the famous site of Angor Wat in the ever popular Siam Reap.  If coastlines and adventure was on your agenda the you would head south of the city to the beautiful unspoilt regions of Kep, Bokor and the lively Sihanoukville.

The terrain in Cambodia offers the ability for inexperienced up to competition class riders but be prepared to get dirty!  Roads are still a new thing, and although many roads are being constructed, Dancing Roads will avoid these wherever possible and take the back trails known as the "Red Roads"!  You have never seen a pothole until you ride in Cambodia and after the few days of riding you will understand not only where Dancing Roads gets its name, but also why they use the popular XR 250, which is perfectly suited to the terrain. If you are experienced why not push the bike and your abilty to the max with a trip through the Cardamoms?  Rumour has it this is where Lara Croft refused to go as wardrobe just couldn't make it!

Take the time to appreciate the real Cambodia!  Dancing Roads operate Dirt bike tours almost year round!
